The Final Examination (2 hours) will be conducted under Tests & Quizzes which will open Tuesday, April 23 at 9:00am and close at 9:00pm the same day. You can access the exam anytime during the 12-hour period; however, once you open the exam, you have two hours only in which to complete it. You will be able togo forward only; you cannot go back to any previous question/answer. The exam will close automatically when the allowed time is complete, even if you have not answered any questions. After that, you will no longer be able to access the exam. Make sure you give yourself more than two hours before the exam closes.

I. Multiple Choice (0.5x40 = 20 points)
Same format as the online quizzes.
II. Map Labelling/Location (0.5x20 = 10 points)
Same format as the online quizzes.
Two thematic maps along with lists of numbered features will be provided.
III. Short-answer/Map Interpretation (20 points)
Identify and illustrate with an example three large physical forces that shaped the landforms in China. 3x (0.5 + 0.5)
o Tectonic Collision: N-S uplifting, The Himalayan Mtns;
o Compression: E-W warping, Hengduan Mtns;
o Volcanism: Ring of Fire, The Island Arcs;
Name and explain four official ethnic territories in China that illustrate the core-periphery concept. 4x (0.5 + 0.5)
o Guangxi: Primarily the Zhuang people in the southern border next to northern Vietnam
o Neimenggu; Primarily the Mongolian people in the northern border next to Mongolia
o Ningxia: Primarily the Hui/Muslim people immediate to the south of Neimengu
o Xinjiang: Primarily the Uygur people in the northwestern part of China
o Xizang: Primarily the Tibetan people in the southwestern part of China
